A practitioner of Chinese energy medicine and a qìgōng trainer and practitioner, Laurent first began with Reiki, which he has been teaching for years through his school. Reiki is not always considered a spiritual practice, and many people reduce it to a set of energy healing techniques, similar to, if not identical with, magnetism. We find this to be a worrying oversight, both for the health of Reiki practitioners and recipients, as they are missing out on the spiritual essence of Reiki. Furthermore, the spiritual teachings of Reiki lead us to consider our own individual responsibility in areas that clearly go beyond the boundaries of Reiki, which is apolitical and non-religious, to ask the question of our relationship with the Other from the perspective of Unconditional Love, which naturally leads to the question of inclusivity, rather than exclusion or exclusivity.
